How One Vaper Overcame His Nicotine Addiction

The worst thing about smoking is that you get so addicted to nicotine, it becomes almost impossible to live without it. Especially in the start, ex-smokers have a hard time in getting used to low supply of nicotine. Nicotine is addictive and is one of the biggest reasons why a lot of smokers go back to smoking after they have quit earlier.

What is Nicotine Addiction?

Nicotine is usually found as a colorless or a yellowish liquid. Small doses of nicotine are used in tobacco and pesticides as a stimulant. Just like millions of other smokers in the United States, Jack Nixon also had been smoking tobacco cigarettes for the past 15 years of his life. He got addicted to smoking when he was merely a teenager and since then, could not live a single day without it. As he entered his late 30s, he started feeling that his lungs and health are getting affected by chain smoking and he thought of quitting it, in a systematic way.

Because nicotine in tobacco cigarette is the main reason why smokers get addicted to smoking, Jack was finding it extremely difficult to overcome his nicotine addiction. One day, while having a chat with his friends, he mentioned how he is struggling to quit smoking and have a healthier lifestyle. His friend, who was a vaper asked him to give e cigarettes a try and see for himself if it helps.

Like most people, Jack was skeptical at first but then gave it a go. He tried different e liquid flavors and felt that vaping does not only help him overcome his nicotine addiction but it is actually a very pleasant experience.

Just like Jack, overcoming your nicotine addiction is not impossible if you do know the right ways. To clear it, vaping is not synonymous to smoking cigarettes. Vaping is the act of inhaling vapor.

The vapor that is inhaled can be produced from a number of materials including, dry herb, concentrate or e-liquid. Vaping is not new; rather it has been around for the last couple of years. With every coming year, vaping is becoming more popular around the globe.  

Individuals who do not do vape are of the idea that e liquids constitute of mysterious chemicals that are dangerous to health. The composition of e liquids is pretty straight-forward. They consist of four ingredients, propylene glycol, food-grade flavoring, pharmaceutical-grade nicotine and vegetable glycerin. Vegetable glycerin is responsible for making vapors. Propylene glycol is added to retain and antifreeze the flavor. It is also found in asthma inhalers. Food-grade flavoring gives flavor to the e-liquid and can be natural or artificial.

According to a recent academic article, published by an international group of health researchers, vaping can be one of the ways by which you can quit smoking in an efficient manner. The study was published in the journal, Nicotine and Tobacco Research in which the scientists have explored the influence of nicotine on body and how it affects it. As e cigarettes have nicotine, they can be used in place of tobacco cigarettes. The authors found out that e cigarettes can help in tackling with cravings of certain foods too.

Over the last couple of years, vaping industry has been on a boom. One of the reasons why vaping is a fast growing industry is that vaping offers a far better and healthier alternative to typical tobacco cigarettes. In spite of this, a vast majority of people have concerns about the risks of vaping, the reason is they are unaware about vaping and confuse it with smoking.

21% of the smokers in the United States now also do vaping along with smoking tobacco cigarettes.

In simpler words, vaping does not have any detrimental effects on your health, neither long term nor short term. One thing that needs to be remembered is that vaping is not similar to smoking tobacco cigarettes.

The nicotine component in vape products help ex-smokers in getting their addiction fulfilled while keeping them away from smoking tobacco cigarettes. The two authors of the article are, Marewa Glover and Linda Bauld.

“People can change their nicotine content, so to quit smoking they might start off on a higher strength e-liquid and then they can taper down really quite gradually in a much more sophisticated way than they can with NRT, which is probably good for weight maintenance and for weight loss,” co-author, Linda Bauld, of the article said.

You can easily use this technique too. If you were a chain smoker, you can opt for e liquids that have high quantities of nicotine in it and maybe even have a tobacco flavor – this will help you in adopting a healthier lifestyle.

Bauld further said that anyone who was a smoker and is afraid of gaining unnecessary weight, using a vape can actually help them in suppressing the yearning for nicotine. With time, the body will get habitual to less amount of nicotine too.
